FAQs

DO I NEED TO BE RETIRED TO JOIN ILLINOIS CAMPERS ON MISSION?

No. Many COM members are currently working full time jobs. They volunteer on projects, for the weekends or use vacation time to do mission projects. Come for a day or two, or as much as you can. COM is a very flexible organization.

DO YOU HAVE TO OWN AN RV?

No. Many mission projects are at children's camps and churches. The camps have cabins, dorm rooms etc., for those members who do not have RV’s. Churches house some of our members too.

DO I NEED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE?

None required, just a willing heart and spirit! There is always a job for everyone. Sometimes, you can assist someone who has a skill, and you learn new things on the job.

HOW MUCH MONEY DOES IT COST TO JOIN?

There are no financial obligations to join Campers on Mission at any time. Only requirement is you have accepted Jesus as Savior, and be a member, in good standing with a bible teaching, evangelical church.

DO I NEED TO BE OVER THE AGE OF 18 TO PARTICIPATE/BECOME A MEMBER?

No. Members who are blessed to have children at home may bring them along. What an awesome way for the children to learn about missions and serving others. The children work with their parents or grandparents to learn skills that prepare them to be future Campers on Mission members.
